Buyer guide

  • 1. Material

Our partners work with two different materials, wool and cotton. Each of them presents different characteristics in terms of weight, durability or caring instructions.

    ***

Wool. Sourced from the Sirouwa mountain, it is one of the finest wool in Morocco. Wool rugs are silky and resistant while also slightly heavier.

Caring instructions: to preserve the beauty of the wool and bright colors, we recommend dry cleaning.

    ***

Cotton. The cotton is dyed in Fès (Morocco) with natural dyes but sometimes includes some chemical dyes. Cotton rugs are lighter and tend to have simpler designs.

Caring instructions: machine washable with mild detergents. The colors recover all their brightness.

  • 2. Shape

The shape will strongly determine the final use of the rug and its adaptability to different spaces. We offer classic rectangular rugs and runners.

    **

Rectangular. These rugs are versatile and the final use is mostly determined by the size of the creation. See factor 3 for more details on the size categories.

    **

Runner. Narrow (below 2'8'' / 80 cm width) and long (usually above 8' / 250 cm), these rugs are ideal for hallway transition, kitchen accent or bed sides.

  • 3. Size

Choosing the right size is critical to ensure the rug fills its purpose and fits well in the space. All our rugs are unique, therefore their sizes are never constant. To simplify the purchasing process, we have classified the rugs in two categories.

    ***

Medium. Between 3'3'' (100 cm) and 4'4'' (130 cm) width; and 4'11'' (150 cm) and 6'7'' (200 cm) length. This size is ideal for a bedroom, a home office or to ground your furniture in the living room. This is the most versatile option if you are not sure about the final use of the rug.

    ***

Large. Above 4'4'' (130 cm) width and 6'7'' (200 cm) length. This size is ideal for a large space or living room. The rug becomes a central piece of the decoration of the room.
