Soumia used to weave rugs for her home. Working at the cooperative has given her additional skills and revenue. It hasn’t been easy for her to reconcile her family life and responsibilities with her work, but she has the advantage of working at home, because she lives a bit far from the cooperative’s premises.
Before, the only revenue was from her husband’s work. Now she spends her money for her children’s needs. Working for the cooperative has made her independent, allowed her to go out of the house and travel to other cities to buy materials.
She is proud of being able to contribute to the expenses of her house and her children. She is no longer isolated; she has a social life! She shares with the women who work for the cooperative her experiences, both family and professional.
